Vetrazzo^® (the product) was invented by a passionate glass scientist in 1996 in Berkeley, California - back when "green" was just a color. More than ten years later, the patented product (Patent No. US 7,771,529) has appeared on HGTV, the DIY Network, and shows like The View. Editors in reputable media outlets rave about Vetrazzo and its many virtues. We're blushing and flattered.

In 2006, Vetrazzo^® opened its manufacturing plant and corporate headquarters in the refurbished Ford Assembly Building at Ford Point in Richmond, California. We’re excited to be a part of the revitalization of this historic landmark. The building opened in 1931 as Ford’s west coast Model-A production plant, and enjoyed a rich history (including being converted to war-time production) until its close in 1956.

In 2010, Vetrazzo was acquired by Polycor Inc, the most diversified and largest fully-integrated granite and marble group in North America, providing natural stone solutions since 1987.

Manufacturing moved to Polycor's Georgia Marble plant in the sleepy town of Tate, (just an hour north of Atlanta), where marble is manufactured alongside Vetrazzo. If Georgia Marble represents an iconic part of American history - it built the New York Stock Exchange annex, the statue in the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C., the National Air and Space Museum and the East Wing of the National Gallery of Art, to name a few - then the growth of the Vetrazzo brand represents America's forward march toward sustainable building.

So what does the next decade hold? With Polycor's innovative manufacturing processes and cutting edge research and development - not to mention a time-tested, now patented formula - we are committed to manufacturing the same product people have grown to love, and make it even better.
