Vetrazzo Wins EPA Environmental Award

The EPA Region 9 Environmental Awards program acknowledges commitment to the environment and significant contributions made by businesses, local, government officials, tribes, media, environmental organizations and individuals. Forty groups and individuals were selected from over 200 nominees received this year from Region 9, which includes California, Arizona, Nevada, Hawaii, Pacific Islands and tribal lands.
California State Department of Conservation Awards Vetrazzo $1.396 Million Grant

The State of California, Department of Conservation awarded Vetrazzo a Grant in the amount of $1.396 Million in December 2008. The grants promote economic development and an array of advancements in recycling and resource conservation. "These projects help California's environment and economy, and keep our state at the leading edge of efforts to build sustainable communities," DOC Director Bridgett Luther said.

San Francisco Business Times Green & Sustainable Business Award

At their 32nd annual conference, the California Resource Recovery Association (CRRA) today named Vetrazzo, makers of the original recycled glass countertop surface, winner of their annual "Outstanding Closing the Loop Commitment" award. The award recognizes a business, government agency or organization that has implemented an innovative program or created a product that reduces waste or has a high recycled content.
